It’s impossible to write about how influential punk bands are/were without an element of objectivity clouding your viewpoint, but I make no apologies for that.  Don’t get mad!  It’s just an opinion and you’re allowed to disagree.  See, there are probably a whole bunch of bands that I overlooked, but to me, these are the guys and girls who really made a difference.
Some of these bands are undeniably hugely influential on a global scale; musically, stylistically and often even sartorially.  Some have had a huge impact in mainstream culture, whereas others remain firmly lodged in the conscious of the underground, barely nudging into the view of the average person .  But all of the bands below have one thing in common – without them punk rock would be a very different place today.
